As if the title Politics and Pasta isn’t classic enough, Mayor Buddy Cianci (although former Mayor, he’ll always be referred to as Mayor) is releasing his memoir that has the entire name of:
“Politics and Pasta: How I Prosecuted Mobsters, Rebuilt a Dying City, Dined with Sinatra, Spent Five Years in a Federally Funded Gated Community, and Lived to Tell the Tale”
Buddy’s trip to the Federally Funded Gated Community stems from his conviction on a racketeering conspiracy charge which was the only one of 27 charges that he was found guilty on. However, Buddy’s ‘criminal enterprise’ did wonders for the city of Providence and he still remains beloved by many in the state. I have to say, I enjoy listening in on the Buddy Cianci show from time to time on the local news-talk WPRO 630 AM station.
